ah yes,

let us listen to the man
embalmed in jewels and gold
practically calcified in greed where he stands
preach and lecture 
on the sins of greed and gluttony
how will this man
fit through the door
let alone
the Eye of the needle?

Ah yes,
this man who takes no Wife
must surely know the secrets of God’s kingdom
when he preaches against
the Holy Pleasure
that Joins us with God.

Ah yes!
the man who cries out against the bloodshed of Jesus
yet finances a million 
“holy” wars
burning children at the stake.

Ah yes!
these men must know God 
for their jewels and their crowns
yet Jesus walked Barefoot
and Slept in caves with Mary.

Ah yes,
these men who feast on out of season fruits 
and slaughtered lambs
must know God
for how may they be so fortunate
when the town starves to death
on acorn soup in winter
to pay their tithes.

Ah yes,
these men who wrote the bible
must know God.
